Axis Body Worn Hub

“It’s what’s inside that counts.”

Leveraging the leader.

When it comes to networked cameras that ensure the safety of citizens, Axis Communications is at the top of their game. Their name is synonymous with advanced technology solutions for physical spaces, but they needed to extend this legacy into a different arena. It was time for Axis to speak to educators, EMTs, field police officers, and retail employees—the people that need physical security more than most. For us, making the case for the body worn offering was easy. Trust the leader to do it better than anyone else.

Show them the money.

As many good storytellers do, we started by painting a picture. A picture of quality. In 3D experience, the physical product—sleek, discreet, effective—leads target audiences through body worn’s practical benefits, with a focus on their top care-abouts. While some of our audience was already familiar with Axis, others were not. We had to make sure that our message would resonate with those savvy to Axis’ name, and educate at the same time.

A deep well of detail that never feels too daunting.

Creating a one-size-fits-all destination hub for different audiences with different needs required tactical organization and UX thinking to make it work right—and not overwhelm. We created a simple navigation system that contained each audience-specific section of information, like supporting ebooks or infographics, or story-driven use cases that put body worn into real-world context. If a user only wants broad strokes, they can easily scroll the entire site and get the total message. Deeper dives are readily available across the experience, allowing for technology and solution exploration as desired—and really makes this an actionable tool for both independent and sales-led experiences.

More than meets the eye.

After recently running some experiments with a web-controlled 3D experience that allowed the user to turn, reorient, and look inside an exploded view of a device, we knew there was no other way to show off these game-changing cameras. Behind the scenes, our development team found ways to seamlessly deliver a rich pre-rendered 3D experience with lazy loading and pre-emptive pre-buffering, giving visitors eye candy without a wait—even under slower connections.
